I found this to be quite a story. For a self-described socially awkward person, Marc-Andre certainly was comfortable in his own skin - in the sense that he was fully willing to duck out from a documentary film making that could launch him to a larger platform.
This story, he, could be discussed on various levels, but I couldn't help but note the irony: As he was in the process of being recognized as among the great solo climbers of his generation, he died on a partnered climb. My guess is that among the conversations that take place within the climbing community, the pros and cons of solo vs partnered climbing are energetic.
No doubt, Marc-Andre will be missed and talked about for years to come.
