No development. This book has a truly unbelievable main character who is the most well read, well trained, and "deep" thinking man in the world at the age of 13. Slaughtering trained soldiers, palace guards and an army of undead basically by himself. You can hear the narrator sound like he hates himself for reading this nonsense.
