OK gameplay but illogical and badly designed story. Not for those who are well versed and invested in the halo lore.
Music is somehow even more forgettable than in halo 5, but that could be the fault of the open world design.
Weapons sandbox is not very enjoyable (not to mention also badly thought out lore-wise. Somehow a single ship that was since the ending of Halo 5 in perpetual running away mode, managed to overhaul most of the UNSC weapons arsenal, and make the weapons worse to boot.), somehow I feel like even CE had more variety, and all weapons were actually useful.
Armor abilities are useful gimmicks, help with exploring and feel good to use which is the most important thing. It's just a shame they are necessary for higher difficulties, like the campaign was designed around the fact that the player would on legendary go out and fetch every possible spartan core and upgrade all the gadgets to max.
Enemies are okay, the AI is more aggressive than previous installments which is welcome, and IWHBYD skull adds a great deal of humorous one-liners to both friend and foe.
So in conclusion, gameplay for the campaign is OK to good, and the story itself, without going into spoilers is bad just because I can point out so many errors and mistakes from the lore I know (unless they retcon books that were written between halo 5 and infinite). The story also strong arms factors in nonsensical, illogical ways to fit its narrative.
1/5 I wish halo as a series would've ended after Halo 5 instead of this being made.
