As a huge GoT fan, I went into this with very little optimism. Prequels are rarely good, in my opinion. However, I was pleasantly surprised at the pilot episode. If you judge it as a GoT series, it’s definitely below par. That’s a tough act to follow. House of the Dragon is cast beautifully and if you’re looking for similarities, you can definitely determine the bloodline each member is supposed to be from. That being said, each character that was introduced in the first episode has their own unique qualities. I rarely give an opinion after seeing one episode but this is absolutely worth the watch! I won’t give out intricate details of the episode but I will say this. Watch it as what it is, the first episode of a new series. One who is based off of a book by one of the greatest writers of our time! The clothing, scenery, everything is perfect! Oh, and it also covers all the basics in the first episode, gore, sex, death, deceit, and fighting!
