Mr. Foxx Frequency

I don't understand why this movie has so many negative reviews. Its sweet, silly, funny, lighthearted, and with an all star cast. I don't really get what people were expecting this movie to be, going in. Critics said it was lacking substance, but I'm pretty sure it wasn't marketed as a documentary about the history of pop tarts. I get that everyone's humour and expectations are different but I think its worth to watch it and make up your own mind. Personally, I enjoyed it and it was just the right amount of silly to brighten my evening.

So happy they added this movie to Amazon Prime . Love the whole thing (and don't understand the low ratings), especially Will Forte's fired up crusade speech against "satanic" breakfast cereals.

An okay watch, but for a thriller I found it got boring pretty fast. The whole cat and mouse premise fell flat for me and I found the endless, draggy scenes of hiding behind walls (breathing heavy, staring and more staring) and escape attempts from the main protagonist very tedious to watch. I found myself keeping looking out the window and multitasking during scenes, waiting (hoping) for things to get interesting. I can't say that the fact that the main character was hearing impaired (an idea that initially intrigued me) really elevated the story at all for me.Once the mask was off the killer just seemed like some random idiot with a crossbow, with no apparent incentive. I think this is a thriller for folks with lots of patience, maybe. People are saying it reinvented the slasher genre, but it just put me to sleep.

A wildly disgruntled John Goodman of 10 Cloverfield lane goes on a massive road raged inspired killing spree after a lady honks at him the improper way. Cops oddly no where to be found (like seriously). The films over the top violence at first feels sickening and then quickly turns comedic and absurd. Woman makes a lot of dumb choices, but in the end, her special candy cane scissors save the day (yay!). Entertaining and pointless. Good(man) acting from Mr. Crowe. I watched the whole movie (happily yelling things at the screen in frustration the entire time).

I never thought I'd one day be crying over an Octopus. Now, having watched this, I have no idea why I was so blind to that possibility. I will never look at any creature the same way. I honestly haven't been this emotionally invested in anything I've seen on screen in years. Nor have I felt more educated and inspired by any book, documentary, film, etc, in ages. This outstanding documentary taught me so much about trust, vulnerability, caring, adaptability, friendship, growth, patience, mindfulness, respect.... It re-kindled passion in me to want to experience the world (my immediate world) more. A very therapeutic viewing. You are missing out on so much if you miss seeing this sublime documentary.

A Masterpiece.

A visual delight with fresh new stories and plot twists. Sure, its a bit of a darker take, but Anne remains Anne, the same adventurous, wide eyed, clever, imaginative, and (extremely ) talkative girl. Sure, it diverges from the original source material, and has taken a decidedly more grownup approach, but to me, this is a plus. All nostalgia aside, why would you want to just watch a newer adaption of the very same thing from the past? Perhaps its a bit mature for a young child just coming into the stories, I agree on that note. Maybe for new, young viewer, it is not as 'good' as the originals, but as an adult returning to the show, I really enjoy what they've done with it. And, I repeat, its a visual delight (it is the only show that I have never once skipped the into to, ha, ha :).

I don't thumb down movies, but its....Its pretty bad. John C. Riley was the highlight of this film (as he always tends to be in his 'supporting' roles). Sure, its got an undeniable all star cast, but I found the humour mediocre at best.Whiny, even. Feels like they were onto something, but it ended up falling short, and flopping like Your Royal Highness . I expected more of a quirky , witty comedy (like other Audrey Plaza films), and instead there was just loads of shouting and F bombs and lewd potty humour and annoying theatrics. It was funny to hear the obscenity in it at first in juxtaposition to the medieval setting, but that kind of juxtaposition is hardly an original concept and such contrasts alone don't carry a film. it all gets old fast here. Don't be fooled by those "its like Monty Python"! comments. It is absolutely nothing like Monty Python. But John C. Riley. God I love him :)
