I've known Simon for many years, and have been a big fan of his songwriting over this time. "Parkour with Guitar" is a captivating memoir detailing the Simons musical journey through the rock scene of Perth from the 1980s onward. Engaging anecdotes highlight his experiences with bands like Silent Type and The Never Never, and his interactions with major acts such as The Clash and INXS. His storytelling is energetic and nostalgic. Simons stories take me back to the days I played around Perth in The Linclons and The Freuds, which included supporting the Never Never at various gigs in Perth. The book is a heartfelt tribute to the life of a musician; the triumphs and regrets, which many musos will relate to. Well done mate. Great read.
