There’s a lovely message to this book. The author is obviously a special soul and clearly has found her calling, and I’ve come to really like her character and her journey. Her story is eye-opening and heartwarming, as well as very sad. However, - note to the editor - there are many sentences and sentiments that are repeatedly(!) repeated, and this does get really irritating, as it’s simply a waste of life, ironically, listening to the same sentence for the tenth time. I listened to the audiobook and found the narrator reads as though she’s talking to a child, which is gentle and inoffensive, but could be interpreted by the listener as being spoken to like an idiot, especially paired with the repeated explanations of the same things. For me it really detracted from the sentiment of the book. It’s a difficult balance to strike, and unfortunately the audiobook didn’t achieve it for my experience. However, it still gets 4 stars because of the author herself being an amazing person and the book still being worth a read/listen.
