An engaging story with charming artwork. High cute factor as Little Bear is shocked to find a box of pancake mix doesn't contain actual pancakes after inviting all his friends to a pancake party. When the others wonder how they'll be able to get pancakes out of this white powder, the mouse, referring to the directions on the box, delivers the best line in the book: "Reading is listening with your eyes."
