I can't remember the last time I've felt so amped up after every single episode of a series since streaming became the new primetime; the fact that it's a sci-fi/horror series is already exceptional, let alone one of the pioneers of the genre. This is exactly the kind of storytelling designed for a transition from cinematic runtime to television's episodic, weekly release.. something to truly transform the way I plan (and anticipate) my Tuesday nights. Yes, of course there are plot holes and definitely requires some suspension of disbelief (like the fact that an inventor of new synth tech on a private island would not have complete and constant surveillance of everything that occurs on said island), but it's just too damn fun to take too seriously.
