I’ve followed the Warrens’ story since the very first Conjuring back in 2013 — and Last Rites feels like a heartfelt, spiritual farewell. What moved me most was not the horror, but the deep love within this family.
The film touches on the Warrens’ daughter, who was once stillborn but miraculously saved after their desperate prayers to God — a moment that defines both faith and fear for them. Throughout the story, Ed and Lorraine wrestle with the worry that their daughter might inherit their supernatural sensitivity. By the end, instead of hiding from her gift, she learns to face it bravely and use it for good — a powerful and emotional resolution.
The scares this time are gentler, relying more on sound and atmosphere than real terror. Yet the final act, where the family unites against darkness, feels both healing and divine.
Last Rites may not be the scariest of the series, but it’s easily the most heartfelt — a moving reminder that courage and love can outshine any haunting.
