I think if you are a diehard, Percy Jackson fan and love the books then you’re going to hate this reboot almost as much as the first movie. I think Walker is a talented actor. I’ve loved him in the Adam Project, but I’m a purist and when it comes to a book I’ve read numerous times because I love it so much then get a cast who reflects the characters book descriptions—or alter the actors to match it. The fact they didn’t do this already put me on edge, but once again they couldn’t stick to the storyline in the book. Grover never turned against Percy after the whole dodd’s issue. Like serisouly? Were the writer’s too lazy to freaking read the book?
They totally missed the mark on Percy’s mom too. I loved her in the book, but I can’t stand her in this. She’s supposed to be this super kind person who doesn’t snap back at Gabe, beautiful and just the best person ever and that’s not what the movie shows. To be fair, I stopped watching when they were at the beach house because I was so disgusted with it all and didn’t want to waste anymore of my time. If you’ve never read the book, you’ll probably enjoy it. But if you loved the book…don’t waste your time.
