Season 1 was bold. With the exception of the harry mud stuff which has been done many times in trek, it was very interesting and compelling. It was worth the ride.
Season 2 is another situation. It is only interesting when Michelle Yeah is on screen (very interesting), but that's probably 10 percent at most. The rest is recycled, melodramatic, gross (the Saru scalp stuff and the human-Klingon trist are hard to watch) and boring. The red angel on-going story feels tired from the gate. It's got great music and visuals but that isnt nearly enough.
I hope season 3 delivers a redemption for this side winding production.
