They did a great job at using Ivan’s body language to show how childish he truly was. It demonstrates painfully well relationships where women support men who act like children. They stand up for them, love them, and truly believe some day that man will grow up and do the same, but the day never comes. Why it lost two stars for me was the pacing. The first hour is fun, colorful, and moves well. The back half drags like no movie I’ve ever seen before. 20 minute long conversations that go in circles and add next to nothing to the story. Probably could have cut a whole hour off and been just fine.

Did anyone else come out of this utterly disappointed? The plot didn’t go anywhere. The timeline was strange and a lot of things were introduced that didn’t go anywhere. I was bored. I’m really sad to say it but I was. They kept adding people like Nagini who just followed Crevous everywhere. Or Nicholas Flamel who had a fun cameo, then randomly showed up to save the day. Why did Grindlewald turn into three different dragons? When Leta Lestrange went to go switch her brother with another baby on what appeared to be the TITANIC how on earth did it just happen to be Albus Dumbledore’s brother???? It was EXTREMELY unsatisfying. The movie was gorgeous but very long and boring.
