Great story, great period in time. The acting fell short.

This is a show for teenagers. Between the bad acting, the lack of depth, the terrible dialogue, everyone French/Scottish/Spanish somehow having an English accent lol, the music totally not reflective of the time period, etc. It’s just a terrible show for simple people.

Surprised by all the positive reviews. It was a cheesy and predictable script. Can’t believe all those good actors ended up in such a bad movie. I think one of the movie’s last scenes, in which Bothos unnecessarily gets killed as he’s approaching the gate at the Roman garrison, pretty much sums up the entire movie. Killing that character at that point seemed unnecessary; the entire movie was unnecessary and pointless. I’d be curious to hear the actors’s opinions about the movie. I’ve never seen a movie not make sense. Even bad movies make sense, but not this one lol.

Some of the acting and fight scenes will make you cringe. Also, way too many inaccuracies. However, it is entertaining. If you’re looking for a masterpiece with generally accurate storytelling, this is not it. If you are bored and in need of something to watch, this will entertain you.

A truly amazing story in real life. Unfortunately, the acting didn’t do it any justice.
