I don't know if I can explain fully my feelings for this show. Never before have I felt this understood in television. It has challenged my thoughts, my feelings, and my acceptance of what happens in the world.
This show is so emotionally provoking, and in the best way possible. When wild injustices are played out on screen, I turn red with anger; and when the characters right a wrong, I am overjoyed, gleaming with pride among my newfound "friends".
I fell in love with this show because of its raw realism and how it deals with sensitive topics with such grace. At its very heart, this show is about abuse and trauma, and may give us clues along the way of how to deal with these things. But this is no self-help book. It is tough to watch, and all the more rewarding.
When people ask for a series to watch, this is on the top of my list. Bravo.
