Absolutely shockingly bad beyond belief. The good reviews here and seeing it pop up everywhere seemed like I was being pushed to watch it, even though I know the rule that pretty much anything with Mark Whalberg in is terrible. Still, I decided to give it a chance. The opening scene was cool, and the following scenes weren't awful either. But it wasn't long until I realised exactly the type of film that this is. An appalling attempt at an adventure action film with dismal acting, tiresome storyline, miserable dialogue and hopeless transitions. The only thing that manages to almost carry this film is Tom Holland because who doesn't like our Tom? But even Tom wasn't able to drag me through this wretched mess without me getting 40 minutes in and feeling (and hoping) like the film should end just to save me the pain of having to watch any more. I think it's fair to say that I didn't enjoy this film at all and the next time I see anything with Mark Whalberg anywhere near it, I will trust me intuition and stay well clear, because his name alone in the cast of a film is enough to warn anyone that it is going to be an absolute snooze-fest bore-mess bundle of brown sludge that you wouldn't want to watch even if it's the last thing on earth and you're the last person on earth dying of boredom where your only hope to live is by watching a film.
