As a bit of a fan of the previous films I personally found this to be a steaming pile straight from the pants of a scurvy ridden pirate suffering from a bad case of dysentery! The previously excellent Geoffrey Rush came across as bewildered and confused, akin to someone suffering from early stage dementia being let loose in Disneyland. Even Johnny couldn't save this one, although I will admit he came close in the last few minutes with two of the finest lines of the whole series; 'If you had a sister and a dog, I'd choose the dog' and 'I have never actually been that drunk' in response to Penelope Cruz suggesting they had fornicated resulting in a little Jack to be. Whether he meant that he would never forget such an event, or that he had never been drunk enough to bed her again after their previous dalliance, we will never know...
