Ron Lyall

I found it extremely tedious and far removed from the hype it received in the run-up to the Oscars. Why it deserved anything is beyond me. Acting may have been good (well, ok), but a script that seemed peppered with unnecessary and foul expletives (extensive use of the "c-word" for no reason other than to drag language further into the gutter) just shows the lack of actual talent on the part of the scriptwriter. There was nothing else of note. And the storyline seemed non-existant, with little if anything building to any sort of conclusion. Just a ramble of a decaying queen, some rivalry between her ladies at court, and a backdrop of a remote war with France that came up every now and then. I couldn't wait for it to finish....
