One of the most gripping reads of grit and survival gets turned into a shallow girly drama. Definitely read the book, don’t bother with this. Came for the sharks, brutal Japanese soldiers, and colleagues who eat the last of the chocolate, not for romance on the beach, corny brotherly small talk, and Jesus praisers (which were part of the story but make for boring watch)
