I’ve always admired Clint Eastwood as an actor and director, i never seen a film from him that I didn’t like. The story line in this was sweet in places, shows a growing friendship/relationship with a young supposedly troubled Mexican teenager / cockerel, and an ageing cowboy , unfortunately it has no real substance and makes no sense in many parts, it leaves viewers confused as to how and why that happened, but it’s beautifully crafted, lovely scenery, and it’s a journey into the Mexican countryside. I think it’s Clint’s last throw of the dice 🎲 to show he can act, direct, charm the ladies, be a hero, and of course be the iconic cowboy he’s always been. Maybe a bit of an ego trip for Clint,
Hes had great success through decades of great film making, he’s Clint Eastwood, so I get why he’d want to make it, and I admire that a man in his 90s is still able to work so hard making films. he did look quite vulnerable in places and the storyline moved as fast as he did. However its a nice film to watch , not too violent, not complicated, and may be Clint’s last one before he hangs up his stirrups ,the last great Cowboy of the film world 🌎
