There was a lack in suspense and plot.

This movie was a godamn disgrace. Its almost as bad as the Percy Jackson movie series For example, the Butler Family was the black, instead of cacasion. There was no plot of the first book, no kidnapping for gold, which is a important part of Artemis's climax. I don't think there was any mention of his mother. Commander root was a women instead a iconically being a man. Artemis was the world saving hero instead of being the villan of the first book. The father was returned by magic. The father was actually involved in magic before Artemis. And the father was kidnapped by the a fairy instead of the russian mafia. There was no boat, no trying to go legit, no blowing up the book, no losing the leg, nothing. Also what was the part about the fricking aculus. It never existed in the books, why they have to create something new? Another thing is that there was no badass Butler completely destroying the troll in hand to hand combat. Instead he died by the troll falling on him. This movie was total BS
