The movie itself is fine, but if youโve read and loved Spinelliโs Stargirl you will see that it falls short. Character development, conflict, theme, major scenes ...everything are altered or missing completely. Even Archie, Leo and Kevinโs sage, is โdumbed downโ and his philosophical words of wisdom are lost.
Sad to see that Disney couldnโt stay true to a powerful YA novel. Read the book!!!
