I was SO gripped by this book. The whole mystery and turns of events kept me so gripped that I read it front to back all in the same day. The descriptions of each character giving a perfect picture of who they are plays a crucial role in the story. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Hmmm… I enjoyed much of the books description, the ability to use my own mind to picture the words within the book. However, for the same reason, the graphic details of an 8 year old child performing a certain act on their stepfather was rather off putting, as were the MULTIPLE graphic descriptions of s**ual abuse in different characters. Also, to put it in short, the book was ‘blah blah peeing bla bla sex bla bla peeing bla bla drowning bla bla peeing bla bla sex bla bla sex bla bla r*pe bla bla peeing’. As someone who got this book due to the positive reviews left by many well known avid book readers, I was sorely disappointed. I have given 2* as I am also aware that this is the author’s first book according to the small statement at the end, so hopefully this author can improve her stories in time. P.S. I stayed up all night (currently nearly 4am and have just finished the last page) eager to find out what happens at the end… nothing… no answers… I can understand the reader having some open questions at the end but the general storyline tends to have closure. I ended the book in the same place that I started it. Blissfully unaware of the main character’s outcome.
