absolutely amazing and surreal. there is a weird sense of dread in every episode that has unique and different story, it isn't supposed to be a cliche horror anime with jump-scares though, so people criticizing it for lack of horror are quite wrong. Title literally says ''macabre'' which means weird odd and unnatural so every episode has a deeper meaning embedded, inside a superficial fearful story. the most bizarre thing is ALSO how something so senseless normal and mundane in an episode transforms into oddly horrifying! crazy! and downright evil at some times. as mentioned there are very hidden layers to it and it shows insidious visceral nature of human bein mixed with the grotesque and creepy descriptions, illustrations and scenes. music and character design is also so old fashioned yet scary!
