I quite enjoyed this book. It was purposely the first of the Dorothy L. Sayers novels I read. I had been recommended to start with the Harriet Vane series, starting with Strong Poison, but I wanted to get a sense of the author's writing style and skill with mystery plots independent of her most famous characters, including Lord Peter Wimsey and Harriet Vane. The Documents in the Case met and exceeded my expectations and I look forward to reading more of her work. Be forewarned this novel is a little hard to get into, given the epistolary format, but persistence shall be rewarded with an engaging and ultimately rewarding book.
