Mankind's evolution of the design for places to live resembles Maslow's hierarchy of needs, from humble mud huts and caves as the first rung of survival, to the Roman empire and up to the beautiful, artful, and highly technical designs of Gaudi and Frank Loyd Wright and others as the top rung of Maslow's ladder. Preserving these architectural steps of our history is important for all of engineering and science to be remembered so that future generations can grow on the shoulders of our former accomplishments. These fantastic buildings for their day, continue to inspire innovation every day, and I would add, even the design of our future space stations, and are important to our survival as mankind. Thank you PBS, from every country, for televising these quality programs decade after decade.
