I am surprised to hear that the Liberal government's decision at long last to communicate the reasons for imposing a carbon tax is not a good idea. I live in beautiful British Columbia and we just went through a 450 forest fire season, and that is only our fourth worst. Over in Alberta the popular gem Jasper was levelled and a top oil field was almost shut down, while over in Saskatchewan a mine was shut down. Has no one noticed that up to 90 percent of the carbon tax is being refunded to Canadians? I am a senior living on a small pension, but am willing to make this sacrifice so that my son will have a habitable planet in his future. And I am not in any way affiliated with the Liberal Party or the government except as a taxpayer.
