Such a frustrating movie - superbly acted, disappointing directing, and strangely written. For all the surreal and ridiculous, yet true, parts to the real story, the writers chose to focus on a narrative line that made the protagonists look like entrepreneurial opportunists, rather than the considered machaevalian war mongers (nothing about the Project for a New American Century?) A few good moments, but otherwise little structure, poor dialogue, and so much ridiculous filler that made the director look like he was playing with a high school project. Falls well short of the Big Short.
