"Cadaver" (2022) falls short of delivering the thrilling and mysterious experience it promises. The plot, centered around a medical examiner embroiled in a puzzling murder case, is riddled with clichés and predictable twists. Despite the potential for an engaging storyline, the characters are underdeveloped, making it hard to connect with or care about their fates. The pacing is uneven, with long, dull stretches that fail to build tension. While the cinematography and setting create a suitably eerie atmosphere, the film ultimately lacks the substance and originality needed to captivate its audience. Given these shortcomings, a 2-star rating feels generous.

Anweshippin Kandethum (2024) is a decent police procedural with some twists. The acting, especially by Tovino Thomas, is praised but the story is a mixed bag. While some enjoy the two separate investigations, others find the second half less engaging. The technical aspects like cinematography and score are well-regarded. Overall, it's a good one-time watch, particularly if you're looking for a no-frills crime thriller.
