I am a huge fan of the series. From saw I to saw 3D, it was amazing. Jigsaw was 4/5 but this spiral one is straight to the bin. I like how they want to try something new, like using different voice, dolls and etc. But at least try it in a way that make audience hook onto the movie. The voice was laughable and the new doll wasn’t consistent. About the plot, it is straight up bad. First of all, the chance of winning each game was super low and that isn’t John Kramer ideas of the game. If you want to kill them, just kill them instead of making your life much harder by inventing those machines just so u could kill them in less than 1 min in most of the game. John’s idea is to give people a second chance in live to reborn and not take life for granted by some sort of sacrifice. Second, the plot was really predictable. If you are a fan of mysteries or puzzle solving movies, you can easily tell who the killer was 20 minutes in. I know that it suppose to reveal it all at the end, but the plot make it too obvious. I personally have a gut feeling of who the killer is after the first victim because a new guy just started at a department, and the killing starts. Plus when he was borrowing the lead detective phones, it’s all clear. Making the movie related to SAW series was really an insult to all the SAW’s fan. It feel like the movie using SAW’s name to pull the audiences that watched SAW, just to see straight out trash. If you want no relation to SAW or John Kramer, just make a new movie that is not completely relate to SAW.
