I haven’t played a new Madden since 13 and have started playing video games again recently so I picked up 22. The game has not changed one bit. It has only gotten worse. The creators were so LAZY. I’m convinced that they have never watched a football game before. There are so many basic rules they missed; the clock doesn’t stop if you go out of bounds, a player being down on the ground that wasn’t touched being called down (that’s college!!), you can’t challenge anything, etc. The game also fumbles constantly, interceptions are abundant,
The Face of the Franchise mode is such a joke. You essentially watch a movie for 45 minutes, do a couple quick drills, play a couple shortened college games, and then boom, you’re a Jaguar. It would’ve been much better if the draft was randomized, not you’re automatically going to Jacksonville if you want to be a quarterback.
Franchise is fine. It hasn’t been improved, but it’s still playable so nothing to really complain about, but I definitely do not feel the need to buy the game year after year to get the same thing over and over again.
Visually, I feel like the graphics could have been a lot better on the Next Gen consoles. I know it’s because Xbox doesn’t want to go all in on the Series consoles just yet and want to have the One for one more year, but I really don’t think the graphics were much better than 13 on the PS3.
All-in-all, it’s still Madden, it’s still fun, but half the fun comes from laughing at how bad it is. EA needs competition to actually make a quality game.
