Drags on and on. The female lead is so insecure and immature, it's impossible to believe that she was in a fast paced demanding job that required smarts, independance, self assurance and a thick skin. I gave it 5 episodes, which was 2 episodes longer than I should have. I gave it 2 stars because there was some charm and some interesting background and secondary stories but these elements couldn't carry the show.

The other reviewer who said; too many storylines, too many characters with no character (all of them), no depth, and a ridiculous plot was right. I am going to finish the last 60 pages because a neighbour gave it to me and wants me to read it and tell him what I think of it. As he couldn't read the first book of the Master and Commander series which I lent to him, he will have to deal with the aftermath. And because he wanted me to read it, he will have to listen to me tear it apart. Figuratively and literally. I will rip pages 40 to 120 out and 180 to about 320 and then I will break its spine over my knee. Tell me, is it wrong to burn books? It is wrong not to burn this one. I will gather the wreckage of this "author" and burn it. I gave it one star because I will have some pleasure moving this ode to mediocrity from the printed to the ash stage. Don't shed any tears for it's immolation. It is a paperback that has seen better days as a physical, if not a literary creation.

Gave it 5 stars for blood and gore. It was definitely the most violent show I've ever seen. Complete with every way that you can possibly hurt someone, although the leads were able to sustain cut after bullet after smash after slash after . . .I think you get my drift. Even the extras were able to sustain massive hit points. Watched a lot of it in slo-mo so I could marvel in the physicality. Man, they make actors tough! My wife squeezes my hand too hard, I cry. Hat's off to the producers and directors! If I took that much drugs, I would be in ward 9, not in the credits!

The producers dropped the ball on this one. "Game"? I have watched 3 episodes. Slow, tedious and dull. We are dropped into the middle of these people's lives and find that even the rich people don't look like they are having much fun. K, I get it. This is a drama. They're Brits and Scotch. But "Game" is actually part of the title. The actors who have parts as players have to have some athletic ability and perhaps some of them do, but the scenes look like they are choreographed by someone who has never played a sport. There are no shots of someone who is actually dribbling. We get nothing in the way of athletic movement, with or without the ball. The "Game" just seems to be a title someone slapped onto this soap opera. I can just picture the auditions where the actors are asked to run 10 yards, and if they don't fall down they get a callback.

The English Game

I thought that this series was a spectacular example of how you can write, direct, act and produce a series that really delves into the most meaningful question in life. That question is - of course - how the heck can I get a job where I can write, direct, act in or produce something that is a collection of short stories with no endings? I just had an epiphany!! I shall create, write, direct, act in and produce the series "and Found". And then write, direct, act in and produce the series "and Lost Again".
