I read the book in grade school and I could not put it down. I remember reading it and wishing I was part of the group of pranksters but being 11 years old at the time and in a restricted foster home environment I couldnt but to this day I know it's the freedom we will always look for and some never will find the rest of our lives that Mr Kesey brought out to share. I fully understood what the drug was invented for and compared it to what I remember hearing about from older hippies of raw shrooms and natural tripping like the native people who used it as medicinal but being tweeked by scientists into what we know as lysergic acid dithalimide. I memorized those words and the book just made it all come together for me I want to read it again
