Three stars simply because it outdid its infamous movie counterpart, but every character is watered down, and many traits that defined our beloved characters were just cut. Katara isn't motherly, Sokka isn't immature, and Aang can't even get a good sounding line out. Iroh didn't bring wisdom, he brought exposition and plot points because the writers seem to think that we can't infer some of the story and feel the need to explain everything out. Overall, as a true fan of ATLA who used to watch on Nickelodeon, I still don't think we were delivered something that was as good as the original. What made the animated show so good was a lot of the character development which they dropped the ball on in this one. The live action feels stale with a little CGI flair.
