Everything was great but there were a couple things that weren't that great. The music wasn't quite there. Metroid games are also known for the atmospheric yet captivating music but here it just felt meh. Not all songs were bad however. Next is the linear design of the game. Although I do get why they did this, it isn't my favorite thing. Metroid Fusion or Other M will lock you in where the only path forward is straight, so to speak. Super Metroid did not do this at all as it "overwhelmed" the player with so much to explore and find. That's not done here. While not explicit, the hand holding is still there with less back tracking than previous succesful games. However, it's good they did this to entice new players and it worked. The story was PHENOMENAL, ALL OF IT. The gameplay was TOP-TIER. Definitely recommend this as a first Metroid game to start with.
