This movie is a masterpiece…. The acting, the cinematography, the plot, the visuals, the wardrobes…. 100% perfection. I’m one of those weirdos, that reads all of the reviews. Whether a restaurant or a movie review. I read the negative reviews, and quickly realized that most of the negative reviews, are mad or annoyed about the storyline and the racism. Which tells me, they’re uneducated and don’t realize that this movie is based on real life and how the black community was treated. Aka… white people don't like admitting that our ancestors were racist and treated the black community like trash. This movie deserved every Oscar nomination, plus some. This movie and Forest Gump, are my two all time favorite movies…

I’m a huge Yellowstone fan, so I figured I would give Landman a try. In Yellowstone, there was a funny but also sweet relationship between Beth and John. She would say things during their “man talks” that John would have a hard time hearing and make comments about. It was funny because Beth’s character was a grown woman and it was done tastefully. Taylor Sheridan tried to do this exact thing in Landman, but the difference is.. the daughter is suppose to be 17!!!! She’s telling her dad how she and her boyfriend have sex and that he’s not “allowed to c** inside, but only other places on her body. Then she’s walking around her father’s house in damn near nothing! Butt hanging out, walking into his room in her underwear. His ex wife FaceTimes him and she’s barely wearing anything. This all went on during episode 1. I decided to give episode 2 a try before just giving up, and it got worse. The mom FaceTimes again and mentions how hot the 17 yr old daughters boyfriend was, and how she would sleep with him, then the 17 year old is at her fathers house, where other colleagues stay, and she walks inside and asks an old man where the coconut oil is while she’s in a bikini and he watches her slather herself in it from the window! The whole show is disgusting and sexualizing a 17 year old. Nothing is realistic, and it seems that Taylor Sheridan decided to focus on throwing sex, women, and teenage girls into our faces rather than actual fact and a story line. It makes sense considering the last few episodes of Yellowstone. I mean, let’s be real… the pool scene and poker scene on Yellowstone were odd and weird. This show seems to show his true colors and clearly, he thinks sexualizing a teenager is okay. Won’t be watching, and don’t recommend… unless you have a sick mind and like that kind of thing. It reminded me of a bad porn role play. “Young teenager moves in with father and friends”. Like get real.

I thought this movie was great. Was the acting Oscar worthy? No. But they still did a great job, especially of getting you to really connect with the characters and love them all. The story alone is very inspirational and one you won’t forget. I remember watching Remember the Titans and having the same feeling and that’s a classic. Great movie to watch for family movie night!
