This movie was a wonderful production of Shakespeare’s tragedy. The acting is superb and the movie retains a feeling of fear and menace throughout
Denzel Washington as Macbeth is particularly good, has is Frances McDorland As Lady McBeth. Alex Hassell’s Ross Why is also outstanding and eerie. The witches, played by Kathryn Hunter, were more frightening than I have ever seen them in a stage production.
The score carries and enhances the unearthly flavor of the movie.
