I am surprised! I actually liked this movie and although I am not a big Anya Taylor-Joy fan, I enjoyed her role in this movie. I thought the special effects were great and the story kept my attention for the whole movie. Definitely watchable! Great concept...

Anthony Mackie leads as Will, a single father protecting his son, Hunter, who has a lung condition, from deadly creatures known as "reapers." These creatures suddenly appeared out of the earth, 3 years before the movie timeline. The film's cinematography beautifully contrasts the natural mountain scenery with the lurking dangers below the 8000 foot line. While the pacing initially feels slow, it effectively builds the characters' motivations and the tension of their environment. As the story unfolds, the action ramps up, showcasing the characters' resilience and resourcefulness. Morena Baccarin's portrayal of Nina, a physicist striving to counter the reaper threat, adds some depth and emotional complexity. The climax, while brisk, introduces a major twist that resolves some key plot points and sets the stage for a potential sequel. Overall, "Elevation" delivers a visually stunning and a general gripping experience, balancing suspenseful action with character development. The movie should have possibly been a little bit longer producing the outcome, as it seemed a little rushed...
