I don't really enjoy this show. I was hopeful, and the story seems like it's there but the characters don't do it for me. All the interesting characters have been killed off. The rest of the characters lack depth and I half blame the actors and half blame the writers and the execution/direction. There are great special effects and then really poor ones. I mean, what's with the campy Wizard of Oz fireball launchers on the bridge of the Discovery? Whenever they are in a firefight the ship is physically launching fireballs on the bridge, but always from the same locations up against the bulkheads and away from anything that matters. Look, not every phaser exchange results in harmless fireballs aboard a spacecraft. Sometimes you just lose power or gravity or computer control or suffer no major damage. At the rate of fire breaking out on that ship it should be completely useless by now.
