There were only two of us in the entire cinema....I have never experienced that before.....we were joined after the film started by 4 more members of the audience. I can honestly say that I felt after the film ended that I had just sat through a three hour trailer for Avatar 3. A movie in three parts. One.... a very long introduction to get established. Two...a dazzling and mesmerising and yet disconnected water ride....Three... a toxic, overbearing Gung Ho tedium with the whole rehashing of characters that we were glad to see the back of in Avatar. I am just not sure why film makers have to be so insecure about creating a sequel where they have to resurrect characters in the worst imaginable way.....and it happens a lot. It is lazy and insulting to the audience. How many times can your children get caught and be held hostage and have it feel as if there is any integrity, or credibility or reasonable closure to what ultimately felt like drowning.
