I don't understand the 1* reviews, but think anyone not staying to the end shouldn't really review half a story. The pay off for everything came in the second half, with one particular song being an absolute moment for Sheridan. The camera work that was a little off putting in the first half was used for some very clever tricks in the second half. Songs too depressing? This isn't Disney. It's about the pains of growing older, depression, life is a struggle. And bouncing back from that. There were many adult themes touched on, in sometimes very powerful ways. Some of the songs fell a bit flat, the first half was far too hectic. But the second half slowed down, was allowed time to breath and I'm glad I got to see it. Me and my friend were almost wondering if these bad reviews were a clever meta commentary on the play itself. Turns out not but go see it and don't expect a breezy typical musical. It is not. It is still great

Such an amazing film. It's weird, but equally wonderful. Such a human connection.

Having followed the MCU all the way through, this was a huge dissapointment, i've never been so close as wanting to leave a Marvel film before it finished. The first half is terrible, the 'story' just bounces around as an excuse to show a bunch of CGI scenes, there's no purpose or flow to anything that happens. Just forced to get the charachters in a certain place to eventually do the big Kang reveal. Which saved me from dropping 1*, Kang was well played, bought some personality to the screen and had a sense of menace. And then got ruined by further poor pacing, bad power development and well the whole MCU sense of pacing and balance just seems - off nowadays. Feels like time to leave Marvel to a new younger audience who they seem to be aiming for. All style has been drained out over the last few movies and apart from Spiderman and some of the Disney Plus series it's been dissapointing ever since End Game.
