It's a readable book about this amazing subject. It makes some important concepts easy to understand but, in my humble opinion, it just stays on the surface, instead of diving deeper exploring the wonderful and numerous reasons behind food and human evolution. As an introduction it would work fine but the authors devote too much effort and time to general anecdotal topics instead of introducing us to some revelatory insights that make you hungry to know more about them. I definitely prefer the book 'Dinner with Darwin' by Jonathan Silvertown.
