Still relevant ten hectic years later, Portlandia was a beautifully constructed vignette comedy affectionately representing hipster Portland. Ahead of its time and in many ways not traditionally American humour, it may have whizzed over the heads of many viewers. Whilst some scenes were more successful than others, I sought out every episode after seeing one because I was interested in the direction, I cannot say fairer than that, I can count on one hand the number of TV programmes I have been that interested in.
