I'm a sucker for a good rom-com and "A Perfect Pairing" delivered. Victoria Justice brings charm and heart to her strong-willed and plucky character of Lola. Not only are her physical comedic timing and acting skills put on full display but she is allowed to showcase her vocal talents as well (in a scene that left me hoping for a full version of the song she sings). Also, a shout out to the woman's facial expressions, cause they are top-notch. If you need quality emoting, call Vic Justice cause she has you covered. Her co-star, Adam Demos, brings his own brand of rugged charm and heart as Max and plays an excellent straight man to Victoria's/Lola's quirkiness. The two were able to create a believable feeling of chemistry that has one rooting once they inevitably end up together. The whole cast, in fact, is great. Every character felt fully established in this cute romantic story. The bartender in the pub scene deserves his own spin-off movie.
The story doesn't set out to reinvent the wheel. It's a paint-by-numbers rom-com. But it's a solid one that is as cute as it is interesting with an Australian glaze. Beautiful scenery/shooting locations lead to some gorgeous cinematography.
Bottom line: If rom-coms are your groove, you'll dig this one's beats (or bleats...sheep pun :D ) Give it a watch.
