Exceptional CGI but the plot quality suffered as a result. It started off as a great worldbuilding, but there is too much going on that the movie didn't know what direction it should take, not as fleshed out as the first one. Is it also just me, or the interaction between the brothers are cringe and awkward? There was not much depth to the new characters in that it is rushed because they need to make another battle between Jake and Quaritch.
Jake's narration fell apart as well, not as meaningful if you compared with its prequel. Everything from first was well-written as to how the Na'vis lived in the forest and all their way of living, whereas they seem to have rushed it all in the second.
With the new characters not being fleshed out, it seems they don't know what to do with Spider and Kiri. Spider being so unbelievably naive that even though he grew up with Jake, easily seem to trust the Sky People. Meanwhile, I had hopes for Kiri to have some sort of "Eywa has answered us" moments like Jake did on the first movie, but alas we are not graced by that. I guess if they made some spin-off about Kiri and hope they do, that could be the saving grace to this movie.
I still love this movie for the CGIs and worldbuilding, but the plot could have been better.
