Before I say anything, I want to make it clearโIโm a huge fan of Iron Man. Iโve watched every single movie related to Tony Stark more than twice. Heโs not just a character to me; heโs the reason I fell in love with the MCU.
Iโm not trying to be disrespectful or biased, but after watching 6 episodes of Ironheart, I honestly feel disappointed. Riri Williams doesnโt come close to carrying Iron Manโs legacy. The emotional depth, the struggle, the raw charisma Tony brought to the screenโnone of that is there. The show feels disconnected from the core of what Iron Man stood for.
Sure, the cinematography is great, the visuals are modern and polishedโbut style can't replace soul. And this series lacks the heart that made Tony's journey unforgettable.
What hurts more is that Marvel had better options. Why not Tonyโs daughter, Morgan Stark? Her story would've been powerfulโgrowing up in the shadow of a legend, trying to live up to a father she barely got to know. Or Harley, the kid from Iron Man 3, who clearly shared a bond with Tony and was shown at his funeral for a reason. These characters were already woven into the legacy. They had weight. History.
Instead, they brought in a character who had no real connection to Tony in the MCU. Riri might be brilliant, but brilliance alone isnโt enough. Legacy should be earned, not handed over in a rush to push the next phase.
Itโs a shame. Tony Stark deserved better. His sacrifice in Endgame wasnโt just an endingโit was the end of an era. Carrying that forward requires more than just a high-tech suit. It requires heart, pain, and purpose. And sadly, I didnโt see that here.
