The album Head on the Door introduced me to The Cure. It was the " oh, what is this?" The brain Questioning what magic is being created here? I remember hearing, then seeing the video Close to Me. It was visually stunning, and Robert Smith's voice was organic, and undeniably original. I fell instantly head over heels, for Head on the Door, and all of its songs. Years later, I became devoted to The Cure's music. With the bands Disintegration album I was completely astonished! It was magnificent in ever respect of the word. It was dark and gloomy, maybe?....but not to me. It was playful and also so lush in it's sound. By far, The Cure at their pinnacle! Everything is here for the fan. From Plainsong to the ultra beautiful Untitled... microphone drop amazing!
