An excellent film, moving elegiac and a lesson for our time. We think that life has a well defined direction and course that it will follow, however as COVID 19 has shown that is just not true and like our life the characters in this film have their live changed irrevocably by the First world war. I watched the film again this evening with my wife and thoroughly enjoyed it, we will watch it again sometime in the future and probably be just as moved by it.
