The concept is cool and the visuals are striking. However, the universe building is shoddy and makes no logical sense in many ways. Regardless of whether or not people believed in the conspiratorial virus (a virus, by the way, whose characteristics are biologically infeasible), I find it hard to believe people would turn into cartoonish villains without any questioning or hesitancy. It’s powerful and interesting to explore how depraved humans can be - but that loses its efficacy when every single person is either sadistic or lacking the desire for real change. I did enjoy the body horror elements and character building. But overall I wish it was more believable and fleshed out.
