I enjoyed it immensely and liked the fact that the film closely followed the novel (which I’ve read twice, so the film held no surprises). Great acting by Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton. But on its own, The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry doesn’t reveal the complete story; you need to read Rachel Joyce’s excellent ‘companion’ novel, The Love Song of Miss Queenie Hennessy, to get the full picture. There’s much more to Queenie than is revealed in the Harold Fry novel/film. Warning: you’ll need a lot of tissues.
